Candidates told to open bank a/c for poll expenses

State Election Commissioner WV Ramanamurthy has asked candidates to open separate account in any branch of a nationalized bank.

PANJIM: The State Election Commission (SEC) has warned candidates contesting the panchayat polls against the use of their existing bank accounts for election purpose expenditures.

State Election Commissioner WV Ramanamurthy has asked candidates to open separate account in any branch of a nationalized bank or scheduled commercial bank or co-operative bank or post office either in his or her name or in a joint name with the election agent.

The account will be used for incurring all election related expenditure apart from depositing all the money received through difference sources.
