Candolim PHC, North District Hospital hold vaccine dry run

Altogether 50 staffers were selected to administer dummy COVID-19 vaccine

MAPUSA: Twenty five staffers of North District Hospital were administered the dummy COVID-19 vaccine during the dry run undertaken, on Friday. 

Medical Superintendent of North Goa District Hospital Mohandas Pednekar said,” This vaccine will be first administered to healthcare workers as first preference. Twenty five staffers of the North District Hospital were selected for this dummy COVID-19 vaccine dry run including five nurses, three doctors, office staff, eco clean staff and others.” 

“This exercise is to understand exactly what will happen and how it has to be done will be studied during this dry run. We have four rooms here wherein in first room, the photo ID of the person will be checked along with the SMS, time and date, followed by authentication of the info in the software whether it is the same person whom the SMS has been sent. Third room, the vaccinator will administer the vaccine and in the fourth room, people whom the vaccine is administered will be kept under observation for 30 minutes for any side effect,” Dr Pednekar informed.

Meanwhile, 25 staffers of Candolim Health Center were also administered the dummy COVID-19 vaccine during the dry run undertaken at the CHC.
