MAPUSA: A car caught fire on National Highway 66 at Karaswada flyover, here, causing a loss of around Rs 3 lakh.
The incident occurred on Sunday when the car was moving towards Colvale, when suddenly it caught fire. Mapusa fire personnel were informed and a team of fire personnel headed by Sub Officer Ashok Parab rushed to the spot.
However, by the time the team reached the spot, the damage to the car was almost done.
Another incident of a tree partially damaging a house was reported at Jaidev Vada in Nachinola.
The Mapusa Fire Station received a call at 1.10pm and were informed that a kokum tree had partially fallen on the house of Saraswati Ghadi.
The duty crew of Mapusa fire personnel headed by Sub Officer Dnyaneshwar Sawant cleared the tree. Luckily, no injuries were reported in both the incidents.
