Car, pick-up collide at Canacona

Occupants of a car and a pick-up had a lucky escape when the vehicles were involved in a collision at Khalwadem-Canacona on Sunday morning.
According to Canacona police, the mishap occurred when Skoda car (GA08 A-4875), which was proceeding towards Karwar, collided against oncoming pick-up, which was reportedly trying to overtake another vehicle.
The impact was such that the rear axel snapped and both the rear wheels of the pick-up got separated as its rear side came tumbling down on the ground.
However, police informed that no one was injured in the mishap, as all the three car occupants from Fatorda and driver from Bhatpal escaped unhurt.
Police informed that an accident case was registered and investigation is in progress.
