VASCO: Coming down heavily on Mormugao Municipal Council, and accusing councilors of not following up on projects approved under Goa State Urban Development Agencies (GSUDA), Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida said that if they had put some extra efforts then several important projects approved three years ago would have become a reality.
Reacting to the Herald report on leaking roofs of Mormugao Municipal school building published on Monday, he said, “If all the senior councillors has played their role properly and guided the council on regular follow up of the projects then such a situation would have not have arisen as GSUDA has approved restoration of the municipal building three years ago and even a consultant was appointed but MMC failed to do any follow up,” Almeida said.
He added, “I had made efforts to gets other projects under municipal jurisdiction approved but councillors played blame game politics and today they have not a single project to their credit,” he said.
According to Almeida, Vasco got various projects under GSUDA including the fish market project, multi story parking project, vegetable and meat market project and others.
