MARGAO: The Carmona farmers have approached Water Resource Department (WRD) for removal of weeds accumulated in the fields.
Due to excessive rainfall, the village lake situated partially in Gavon, George and D’Mello Ward overflowed inundating the paddy fields in the vicinity.
The weeds from the lake were brought in the flood and settled in the paddy fields. The affected villagers spoke to various local bodies and finally decided to report this matter to the WRD and ask for assistance.
A letter has been written to the Executive Engineer WRD for removal of weeds accumulated in the paddy fields.
