Carmona gram sabha discusses development projects in village

MARGAO, AUG 8 The gram Sabha of Carmona Panchayat on Sunday deliberated on a host of developmental projects in the village. At the meeting held on Sunday, various proposals such as playground, panchayat ghar, children's park, market besides construction of a Ravindra Bhavan in the village were discussed and approved.

At the meeting held on Sunday, various proposals such as playground, panchayat ghar, children’s park, market besides construction of a Ravindra Bhavan in the village were discussed and approved.
Sarpanch Estaquio da Costa said the work on the panchayat ghar has started in right earnest and the same will be completed by December. “We are confident that we will be able to take possession of the new Panchayat ghar by December 1”, he said.
The Sarpanch said the proposal for the playground has been approved and that work on the project would commence soon.
The meeting also approved children’s park near the Church and near the Chapel at Xiro ward.
On the construction of the new market complex, the sarpanch informed that the proposal is lying with the Director of Panchayats and work on the project would commence after receiving the order.
Saying that the Carmona village panchayat has executed a host of development projects in the village, the Sarpanch said that the village panchayat has received full support and assistance from the local MLA and PWD Minister, Churchill Alemao to implement the projects.
 “The village will put in place the required infrastructure, including the mini Ravindra bhavan with the help and support of the PWD Minister”, he added.
When newsmen asked Sarpanch Estaquio whether the Panchayat had discussed the controversial issue relating to Raheja’s housing project, the sarpanch said the topic did not come up for discussion since there is nothing more to discuss on the project. “The Raheja topic is over’, he asserted.
