MARGAO: Carmona Panchayat has convened a special public meeting at the village community hall on December 6 from 10 am onwards.
Besides preparing the Gram Panchayat Development Plan, the meeting will also discuss the matter pertaining to migrants in the village where the police verification forms will be checked and also their contribution to the garbage management in the village.
Sarpanch Allwyn Jorge admitted that there is an unprecedented increase in migrants living on rental basis in the village many of whom have not even registered themselves with the police and though they generate garbage they pay nothing for the garbage management.
“It is time we put in place a system so that all migrants staying and working in Carmona are accounted for and they follow the rules of the village,” said Allwyn.
