MARGAO: Taking serious note of cut off access to the recreational facilities including community toilets by Chinchinim Primary Health Centre (PHC), now villagers of Carmona have decided to approach the Prime Minister’s Officer (PMO) to seek justice.

Villagers have claimed that they tried to knock the doors of the Director of Health Services, Education Department, zilla panchayat and even of local panchayat, and with no option left they will be approaching the PMO.
As alleged by they have been cut off access to the recreational facilities including children play rides, walking track, community toilets etc.
Speaking to media persons Allwyn Jorge, former sarpanch of Village Panchayat Carmona said that apart from paperwork flying across various departments Chinchinim PHC defies instructions from the Education Department and zilla panchayat to keep the facility open for the benefit of senior citizens and children.
“It’s very unfortunate that Chinchinim PHC that hasbeen allowed to use two rooms in the building are acting like owners of the entire premises by depriving the villagers the use of the facility apart from directions from even zilla panchayat office who have used zilla funds for public purpose to keep the facility open for the children of the locality,” he said.
He further said children who used to use the play riders in the evening, senior citizens who were using the walking track in the early morning and in the evenings and also the children who used to play badminton are left stranded outside the facility as the facility is illegally locked by Chinchinim PHC without any authorisation by the owners. He alleged that the Chinchinim PHC had made false allegations of damage and hooliganism against the villagers.
Jorge said, “Approaching the PMO will be our last legal resort after which we will be left with no option but to approach the judiciary for justice,” he said.
