Carnival revelers rounded up

Margao police reigned in on Carnival revelers in the city on the last date of the four-day festival on Tuesday evening. Around 16 revelers from Benaulim, who were moving around the city in two open jeeps, were rounded up this evening under preventive detention.
Margao PI Rajendra Prabhudessai informed that the revelers were allegedly throwing water on the people in the city.
Matters came to a head when the revelers allegedly splashed water on a Home Guard near SBI, forcing the men-in-uniform to take the enthusiastic youth in custody. They were all arrested under section 151 of the Cr PC and later released on bail.
