MARGAO: Shankar a carpenter from Loutolim lodged a robbery complaint against four unknown persons at Maina Curtorim police station stating that they abducted him and used his ATM to withdraw Rs 10,000.
According to the complaint, Shankar was called by two persons who claimed that they wanted a bed to be made for them. When he went to meet the persons at an isolated place in Loutolim close to the Industrial Estate. The people came to meet him in a car and actually knocked down his two-wheeler.
They asked him to get into the car which had four persons seated and took off and as they went they threatened Shankar with dire consequences and took his ATM card and forced him to give the pin number. They then went to a ATM at Marcel and withdrew money using the card and dumped Shankar and fled.
Police have identified the car used by the four which was from Candolim and was rented out to a person. Police are on the lookout for the person who had rented the car and hope to nab the culprits through him.
