PANJIM: The Panjim Police have managed to recover all the case properties that were stolen from the Judicial Magistrate First Class Court last week.
The police recovered the stolen Muddemal property/case Property consisting of different envelopes attached in criminal cases of the Civil and Criminal Court, Panaji, along with cash of Rs 4.75 lakh, house breaking instruments and other articles, at the instance of the accused person, from his office at Valpoi. Police said that the accused took all the stolen articles to his office at Valpoi, cut the Muddemal property/ case property envelopes open and pocketed all the cash from within.
The police explained that the accused Mujahid Shaikh had entered building No. 5 of Civil Judge Junior Division, Altinho, Panaji, Goa and broke open the latch of the main door of Nazir’s Section on the first floor and further removed the glass affixed to the door. He scattered some of the case properties and stole some others, which were kept in safe custody.
The accused also broke into the Civil Judge Junior Division ‘C’ court on the ground floor by breaking the latch and fled the scene. Shaikh has been remanded in police custody.
