Cash stolen from Tivim temple

Burglars decamped with cash of Rs 15,000 from the fund box of Rastroli Temple in Madel-Tivim on Sunday night.
In his complaint, Rastroli Temple President Sadanand Kavthanker told Mapusa Police that some unknown persons broke open the latch of the front door of the temple and decamped with cash of Rs 15,000 form the fund box.
The complaint further stated that the temple was closed on Sunday at about 10.30 pm. However, when the temple purohit arrived on Monday at about 7.45 am, he found the temple door open.
The purohit immediately informed the committee members, who later found that the burglars decamped with cash of Rs 15,000 from the fund box.
Mapusa Police rushed to the site and took finger prints and also utilized the service of dog squad, but could not find any clue.
Police Sub Inspector Kesarker is investigating the case.
