PERNEM: Cashew plantation spread over more than one lakh sq mts was gutted in fire at Tiracol. Locals and the Leading Hotel filed cases against each other.
The cause of fire is not yet identified. Locals claimed loss of more than Rs 5 lakh.
However, the locals suspect that the Leading Hotels set fire to the Cashew plantation, since, according to them, the fire broke out in the property belonging to the hotel and that the security guard did not allow the fire force to enter into the plantation to extinguish the fire.
In its complaint to the Pernem police, the Leading hotels stated that their property was destroyed in the fire.
