CANACONA: Property worth over Rs 2 lakh was damaged when a huge cashew tree came crashing down on two houses at Dabel, Poinguinim on Wednesday. However, no one was injured.
Roof tiles and rafters of both the houses were damaged.
The timely action of the Canacona Fire Service personnel helped in saving property worth Rs 2 lakh.
The operation, which lasted for over an hour, was led by fire fighters Tulshidas Desai Prashant Velip, Ganesh Naik and Vivekananda Naik and driver Ashok Gaonkar.
