PERNEM: Pernem residents have threatened to go on a hunger strike if the government fails to revoke permissions/NOCs issued to a casino project at Dhargalim.
Addressing media persons, like-minded and active residents of Pernem taluka under the banner of ‘Pernem Bachao, Casino Hatao’ said, “The government should revoke all the permissions/NOCs issued to the casino project planned at Dhargalim by December 23, failing which, the people of Pernem will go on hunger strike.”
Bharat Bagkar said, “We don’t want a project which will have casino in the taluka since there are people who have studied this project and have come to a conclusion that it will destroy culture and environment.”
