MARGAO: Nuvem MLA Mickky Pacheco, a former minister in the BJP government, has alleged that casinos are funding the BJP.
Mickky Pacheco who was the RDA minister in the present BJP government has completely disconnected himself from the present Parsekar-led government.
Addressing a press conference in Margao, Mickky showed the video of Parrikar as opposition leader opposing the entry of casinos in Goan waters.
“Parrikar with the BJP leaders and others held agitation in Panjim and opposed casinos. He also said that the BJP government won’t allow even one casino to start. He also committed to close down (casino operations),” recollected Mickky.
“But today the BJP government is being funded by these casinos for elections and the fact is the casinos are funding all successive governments,” alleged Mickky.
“In fact, the government is giving support to these casinos and is getting more casinos to Goa. This makes unclear the stand of the BJP govt on casinos, as they have not stopped the casinos till date,” Mickky added.
Mickky also said that this (closing down casinos) was and is an issue for the people of Goa; the people had supported the BJP government so that it would close down the casinos. “But it looks like they are in support of the casinos,” he said.
Mickky has announced that he would be going ahead and contesting in all the 40 constituencies.
“The BJP government today has failed to solve the most pertinent and the most affecting issues of Goa like MoI, casinos, Regional Plan and others,” which, he said, “has increased our firmness on going ahead and getting a regional force to power which will not work for the rich but will work for the poor.”
“I am surprised why a central minister and 12 ministers of the BJP dispensation are (stooping so) low and distributing bulbs to people of Goa rather than doing their prime duties of solving the problems of the people of Goa,” Mickky said.
Mickky said that he has written to Power Minister Milind Naik seeking clarification on several issues and if his clarification is not satisfactory, then, he said, he would file a complaint on the LED bulbs distribution,
