PANJIM: The government will display details of the Socio Economic and Caste Census at all village panchayat and local municipalities seeking objections, suggestions and corrections from the general public.
Announcing this, Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza said that the data will be displayed beginning February 3 for a period of 45 days.
“The draft list is displayed for public scrutiny to raise claims and objections and incorporating corrections in the database after the government approvals,” D’Souza said adding that the government will also accept new entries for those families uncovered during the surveys. The data gathered by the government during the socio-economic caste census will be used by the government at a later date for identification of beneficiaries for government schemes. Data for the caste census was collected from 2011 by going door-to-door.
