CANACONA: After declaring three adjacent Ruby Residency buildings as unsafe over a month ago, the South Goa collector finally decided to alert the residents by putting up cautionary banners at the site on Wednesday.
According to sources, banners were put up on either side of the collapsed building of Ruby Residency late Wednesday evening stating ‘Be Cautious, Building Unsafe, Entry Prohibited, by order District Magistrate’ and a helpline (7875756000) was also mentioned on the banners.
While one banner has been put up at the barricaded entry to the Ruby Residency compound, two more have been placed close to the three  adjacent buildings. Some more banners have also been put up on the eastern side, where the debris has been piled up in the fields.
It may be recalled that during search, rescue and recovery operations, the State government had abruptly halted the operations on the evening of the second day of the incident, on grounds that two adjacent buildings were in a precarious condition and were later declared unsafe.
