PANJIM: Suspended Head of Forensic Department of Goa Medical College, Dr Edmund Rodrigues, junior technician Machindra Jalmi and post mortem attendant Prakash Narvekar have again been summoned by Crime Branch (CB) to depose in connection with the illegal disposal of the body of Aldona local Januz Gonsalves.
The trio has been asked to depose before the investigation team at 11am on Monday in the office of CB in Ribandar.
Family members of the footballer, who had died while playing football on September 23, were in shock when they were told that the body was disposed by Goa Medical College and Hospital through Corporation of City of Panaji as an “unclaimed body.”
Health Department had suspended Rodrigues and the two staffers for the mix up. The investigation of the case was handed over to CB on October 1 after a request by Health Minister Vishwajit Rane. All the three accused were earlier interrogated by CB.
Rodrigues had moved for anticipatory bail which was disposed of by the Sessions Court with a direction to CB to issue 48 hour notice in case of his arrest.
