PANJIM: Crime Branch on Monday arrested Ismail Shaikh, absconding since the attack on RTI activist Narayan Naik in Sancoale.

The CB had issued a look out circular against the history sheeter, and another accused Khalil Shaikh who was arrested by Mormugao police last week.
On July 3, Khalil and Shaikh had attacked the RTI activist and grievously injured him. Both were hired by Ram Gopal Yadav alias Kariya, who was the first to be arrested by the Verna police. The case was later handed over to the Crime Branch for investigation.
Sources have also said that Kariya had revealed the names of those who are involved directly or indirectly in the assault case.
