PANJIM: In a narcotic raid, a team of Crime Branch arrested a resident of Penha De Franca for illegally possessing psychotropic drugs. The accused was peddling drugs near the college stop at Porvorim and coastal areas.
A team led by Police Inspector Nitin Halarnkar conducted a narcotic raid near the college stop at Porvorim, wherein accused Vinod Kayalvarath, 47, from Manshe Bhat, Hali Wado, Penha-De-Franca was found in possession of one transparent polythene bag which contained in it white colour crystalline narcotic substance suspected to Amphetamine, weighing eight grams worth Rs 1.20 lakh approximately in the international market. The seized drugs have been attached and an FIR has been registered under Section 22 (b) of NDPS Act 1985.
The accused is a history-sheeter and previously involved in the Bagira murder case registered at Old Goa Police Station and for one more offence.
