PANJIM: Team of Crime Branch officials during a special verification drive in Calangute, found a spa operating illegally without obtaining a valid licence from Directorate of Health Services (DHS).
During the verification drive, Crime Branch team inspected a total of 14 massage parlours. One parlour namely Blue Terra Spa, situated in Sunkissed Plaza De Antonio in Calangute was found operating without valid licence from the DHS.
The Crime Branch has submitted a report against the Blue Terra Spa to the District Magistrate, North in order to initiate necessary action under section 29A of the Goa Public health Act (GPA). The team of Crime Branch consisting of PIs Narayan Chimulkar, Laxi Amonkar, Dinesh Gadekar, Nitin Halarnkar and Suraj Samant were involved in the verification drive.
An illegal massage parlour operating in under the name of a salon was shut down by the Calangute police on Tuesday.
In June 2022, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had ordered a crackdown on the illegal massage parlours operating in Goa after which the police took action and shut down many such establishments.
