PANJIM: Central Bureau of Investigation investigating the alleged immigration and money laundering racket against minister Francisco ‘Mickky’ Pacheco has received documents from the American Embassy, reports say.
According to sources, the CBI has begun accessing the documents and may seek additional information from the embassy in connection with the case.
CBI had earlier questioned Pacheco for acquiring a US visa allegedly on forged documents. Pacheco’s bank accounts were frozen and his three mobile phones were confiscated by the CBI. The US first alerted India about his alleged role in the racket a couple of years ago and his involvement surfaced after the Bureau of Diplomatic Security in America informed the Indian External Affairs Ministry.
