MARGAO: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has moved an application for release of the seized items of former Nuvem MLA Francisco ‘Mickky’ Pacheco in the money laundering case.
This comes on the heels of the CBI filing a closure report in the case against Mickky, which was being heard by the Judicial Magistrate First Class at Margao.
Meanwhile, the former MLA has also moved a separate application for the release of his seized articles. Hearing on the application will be held on November 1.
It may be recalled that after reportedly receiving the documents from the American Embassy, the CBI is investigating the alleged immigration and money laundering racket against Mickky. The CBI had begun accessing the documents and had questioned him for acquiring a US visa allegedly on forged documents.
Pacheco’s bank accounts were later frozen and his documents, hard disk, two laptops, three mobiles, files register, cheque book, statement of accounts and other articles were confiscated by the CBI.
The former Nuvem MLA stated that there is no case of any case of cheating or forgery made out against him and that he has been unnecessarily harassed by false complaints.
