MARGAO: Cuncolim Citizens Forum (CCF) on Saturday demanded revocation of Town and Country Planning Department and Cuncolim Municipal Council permissions for land development, at Cuncolim.
Mario Moraes, president of CCF expressed surprise as to how come permissions have been issued so fast within 15 days of time otherwise such files are kept pending for nearly more than a month.
He said that the citizens of Cuncolim Municipal Council area have strongly condemned the lethargic attitude of the Town and Country Planning Department and CMC for granting technical clearance orders and licences for the development of land, depicted as an orchard, without assessing the ground reality.
Meanwhile, in a related development, the Chief Officer of Cuncolim municipality has issued a show cause-cum-stop work notice and the matter is fixed for the hearing on July 26.
