During a CCMC meeting, the council brought to the notice of Cabral that there were arrears of Rs 44 lakh in house tax and Rs 33 lakh in trade tax and Cabral directed CCMC Chief Officer Agnelo Fernandes to take action against the staff if they are not performing their duties properly. The council also asked the chief officer to take stringent action on defaulters of rent and taxes. “Seal premises and withdraw the electricity NOC, after giving the defaulters a notice period of 15 days,” advised the councillors. They also instructed the municipal engineer to visit and follow-up on the various files pending before the various government departments.
