CCP asks Collector to notify ban on film shooting at Sao Tome area

Residents often complain that film shooting and commercial photography has become a public nuisance and disturbs peace and tranquillity in area

PANJIM: The Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) has written to the North Goa District Collector Sneha Gitte to notify the ban on film shooting and commercial photography at Sao Tome area in the capital city.

In a letter written to North Goa District Collector, CCP Commissioner Clen Madeira has said that the decision to put a ban on film shooting and commercial photography in the area was taken in a meeting of CCP held on July 19, 2023.

“The CCP in its ordinary meeting dated July 19, 2023, decided to put ban on film shooting and commercial photography in Sao Tome area Panjim-Goa as lot of complaints have been received from residents that film shooting crew social influencers and commercial photographers have become public nuisance and disturbance to the peace and tranquillity in the area,” Madeira has said.

However, an official of the District Collectorate told O Heraldo that the Collectorate is yet to receive the letter.

“Once we receive the letter, we will deploy a person for the job, then we will ask for a report from the police and based on the report of the police we will decide what to do,” he said.
