PANJIM: The Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) held an inspection of various Ganesh visarjan points in the capital city.
The inspection was carried out by the Panjim Mayor Rohit Monserrate, Deputy Mayor Vasant Agshikar, Co-opted Councillor Kishore Sastry and others.
After these visarjan spots were assessed, instructions were then given to the CCP staff to carry out cleaning and necessary arrangements to facilitate a hassle-free visarjan for the residents of the city. Suggestions were also given as to how to maintain these areas post the visarjan as well.
It may be recalled that during the last council meeting, this issue had been brought up. Besides cleaning up the areas, the Mayor had assured the councillors that they would coordinate with the Power Department to ensure that the streetlights are fixed so that these visarjan points are illuminated.
Officials from the power department added that this repair work is underway not just for Panjim but across Goa.
