PANJIM: After almost three months, the ordinary meeting of the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) has been convened in the CCP hall at 11 am on Friday, July 2.
According to information available, the CCP is likely to implement the One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme to recover outstanding dues towards house tax, trade and occupation and sanitation charges amounting to more than Rs 37.07 crore. The CCP intends to recover plans principle arrears of over Rs 29.51 crore and waive off the interest since most of the trades and establishments are closed due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
The meeting may also revise the sanitation fees and renew the contract of the staff working in the solid waste management cell.
The meeting is also likely to extend the agreement of the agency conducting door-to-door survey and assessment of existing government buildings within the CCP jurisdiction and grant approval for the works already approved by the Imagine Panjim Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL).
