CCP cracks down on illegal structures in Miramar

PANJIM: The Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) on Thursday cracked down on illegal structures that were erected along Miramar beach.
Speaking to media persons, CCP Mayor Uday Madkaikar said that the structures, erected within the forest department property, were to cater to the water sports activity.
He said that the structures were illegal and despite several notices, had refused to go away.
Madkaikar said that the Captain of Ports and Tourism Department were also informed about these structures which had come up, and however, had failed to take any action.  He alleged nexus of the water sports operators with forest department officials, due to which such structures were allowed. He said that CCP had not granted any trade licence for the activity.
