PANJIM: Lying in a dire state, the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) has finally decided to upgrade the Panjim municipal market.
The CCP has invited proposal from architects for “Comprehensive design, repair and upgradation work of phase – I & II of Panjim municipal market – design, civil, plumbing, electrical, re-roofing and fire fighting works for Corporation of the City of Panaji”.
Currently, the new municipal market in Panjim is in complete shambles. The market is covered with filth, the walls are filled with paan stains in all corners of the complex. The parking basement is not properly maintained by the CCP.
Meanwhile, the construction of Phase III of the market is pending for years.
CCP has also invited e-tender for collection of pay parking fees from designated areas in Panjim city within the jurisdiction of the civic body.
