PANJIM: Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) recently conducted another inspection of the Panjim municipal market.

Panjim Mayor Rohit Monserrate, Deputy Mayor Vasant Agshikar and CCP Commissioner Sanjit Rodrigues were present.

It is pertinent to note that this is the second inspection of the market since the election of the new Mayor and Deputy Mayor.

“It was a routine visit to the market to check and address various issues from cleanliness to enforcing COVID SOPs,” said Agshikar.

Rodrigues and CCP officials fined persons found without masks at the market and issued directions regarding cleanliness and other irregularities in the market.

To ensure safety of people visiting the market the market complex, Ecoclean Systems and Solutions disinfected the complex.

Panjim market traders hope that a resolution taken by the previous council, allowing waiver of fees for four months during the lockdown period, would be implemented by the new council.
