PANJIM: An official of the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) has filed a complaint against Shreya Dhargalkar, Farida, Rahim Shaikh and other staff of Big Daddy casino accusing them of physically assault and outraging her modesty and threatening her.
On Friday evening CCP staff alongwith Panjim MLA Atanasio (Babush) Monserrate, Panjim Mayor Uday Madkaikar, former mayor Yatin Parekh, with the help of Panjim police had acted against the encroachment of the Big Daddy casino along the pavement near the Captain of Ports jetty.
The complainant has stated that the accused persons with their common intention formed an unlawful assembly and abused and obstructed her and other officials of the CCP from performing their duties and assaulted her in public view and outraged her modesty.
Police said that in her complaint the victim has alleged, “The staff of Big Daddy casino led by Shreya Dhargalkar, Farida and Rahim Shaikh began to abuse and obstruct the officials of CCP from performing their duties and further abused the complainant and the complainant was further pushed by Shreya and assaulted by Shreya and Farida.”
She has further stated that Monserrate was abused by one of the casino staff. “The complainant thereby calls upon the investigation officer to take necessary action in law against the accused persons by registering a FIR for assault, criminal intimidation, outraging modesty of women and preventing government officials from performing duties,” she added.
Panjim police have registered a case under Sections 143, 147, 504, 353, 323, 354, 506 (ii) read with 149 of the Indian Penal Code.
