PANJIM: Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) restarted collecting parking fees from vehicles parked in the capital city with effect from Saturday, June 1.
The CCP had stopped collecting the parking fees since March 24 in view of ongoing Smart City works in the city.
Speaking to reporters, CCP Mayor Rohit Monserrate had said that the Corporation has decided to suspend pay parking from Sunday till May 31 due to the ongoing Smart City works.
“Starting from tomorrow till May 31, 2024, there will be no pay parking in the city of Panjim,” he had said.
The Corporation of City of Panaji (CCP) in January this year had approved the contract for phase three of the pay parking in the city to the same contractor as he was the highest bidder.
The Corporation had floated a tender of the Phase III pay parking, Sohan Juwarkar was the highest bidder, who had quoted an amount of Rs 1.62 crore inclusive of GST.
