PANJIM: Acting on the complaint by a corporator, the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) shut a restaurant and dormitory allegedly running without any licence.
The CCP also alleged that the restaurant was also dumping the waste generated into the St Inez creek.
CCP shut the Basera restaurant and removed the main board, claiming it (restaurant) was allegedly running without a CCP licence.
Mayor Surendra Furtado said that the restaurant was also allegedly dumping garbage into the polluted St Inez creek.
Speaking to media, Furtado said this action would send a clear message that CCP will shut all unlicenced restaurants and other businesses.
