MARGAO: The Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) has now made it mandatory for all stone crushing units to install closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras so as to cover the entire site.
According to the guidelines, CCTV or pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras must be strategically positioned at the entrance and all corners of the premises of the stone crushing units.
This comprehensive coverage ensures surveillance over the entire area, with a minimum of 30 days’ data storage. These measures align with the guidelines for stone crushing units issued by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), now to be implemented in the state of Goa.
The Goa Government has formally notified these guidelines for regulating and Monitoring the operations of stone crusher units. Among the stipulations outlined, stone crusher units are directed to operate strictly during daytime hours, from 6 am to 10 pm. This restriction aims to mitigate the inconvenience experienced by nearby residents due to ambient noise generated by crusher activities.
