MARGAO: After struggling for over a year with poor water supply and water pressure issues, the locals of Pedda, Varca, can now heave a sigh of relief as these issues were resolved by the PWD after repeated complaints and demonstrations. The PWD had been carrying out repairs works recently.

Varca Sarpanch Selu Fernandes thanked all those who were involved in

getting the work completed including the Benaulim MLA, PWD Engineer and PWD workers.

Fernandes pointed out that she along with the affected families had held meetings with the authorities to resolve this issue and was glad that a solution was finally found after having followed up on it for more than a year. Locals had been complaining about this issue for months now and many site inspections were held as well.

The PWD officials had identified the fault lines and carried out the repair work to ensure that the water supply issue was

resolved.

It may be recalled that this issue had been raised in the recent gram sabha as well. While some earlier deadlines that had been given by the PWD in the past had been missed, the locals were happy that the matter has been finally

put to rest as they were facing major problems,

without sufficient water even to complete their household chores.

Locals were also advised to inform the panchayat

if they still had any

difficulties.
