PONDA: Ponda police on Saturday recovered mobile phone of the girl, who was strangulated to death by her boyfriend. The phone was recovered from the Housing Board water tank at Curti.
The mobile was recovered by the police with the assistance of Ponda fire station staff.
After the victim girl broke up with the accused, he took her to the pump house of WRD tank at Bythokhol in Borim on April 13, where after confronting her over her plan to marry another boy, he strangulated her to death. The decomposed body of the victim was found on Friday.
Meanwhile, Mansoor Sheikh (21), the accused, was produced before a JMFC at Ponda, who remanded him in police custody for four days.
