The Goa government has announced the first phase of Census 2027, which will be conducted across the state from April 16 to May 15, 2026. This phase will focus on house listing and the collection of housing-related data, including details about household structure, amenities, assets, and overall living conditions. Officials said the exercise aims to create a comprehensive database to better understand socio-economic conditions and support future policy planning.
Residents will also have the option to complete self-enumeration through an online platform available between April 1 and April 15. To ensure complete coverage, nearly 3,000 enumerators and supervisors will carry out door-to-door visits across Goa. Authorities have urged citizens to cooperate with officials and provide accurate information to ensure the success of the survey. The data collected will play a key role in shaping development initiatives and improving governance across the state in the coming years.
