Centre accused of harassing Disha

PANJIM: The South Goa District Youth Congress Committee on Thursday held a protest march demanding the immediate release of Disha Ravi and accused the BJP government of harassing an innocent student, who was concerned about the environment.

Royla Fernandes, who was the Congress candidate for the Zilla Panchayat elections said, “It was not just the Youth Congress but the entire country was with Disha Ravi and the farmers, who actually feed the nation should not be suppressed.”

Goa Youth Congress President Varad Mardolkar lamented that anybody who protests against the BJP government is termed anti-national and demanded that the farm laws be withdrawn immediately.

Around 35 Youth Congress members then marched from Margao Municipal Square to Lohia Maidan without going around the municipal garden and jumped the fence to demonstrate before the statue of Ram Manohar Lohia installed there.
