PANJIM: Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi on Monday said that the Central government has allocated Rs 200 crore for six-laning of several national highways in Goa.
Joshi addressed media persons on the various achievements of the Narendra Modi-led govt, who completed 100 days in power on Sunday. He said the Centre proposes to invest Rs 100 lakh crore in infrastructure development in the next five years across the country. “It will also invest Rs 50 lakh crores in railway infrastructure over the next ten years. Goa will also get its due share in this. Currently, the Union Ministry for Road Transport and Highways has allocated Rs 200 crore to the State for six-laning of several national highways in the State,” said Joshi.
He also said that Union Ministry for AYUSH has planned a Rs 270 crore – All India Institute of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy in North Goa. “Apart from this, there are other projects like declaring six rivers as national waterways,” he added.
“Anything extra that is needed will be provided as and when the State puts up the proposal,” Minister said.
Responding to the ongoing hue and cry over the new traffic rules, implemented across country, Joshi said that “people who do not violate, need not be worried about the new rules as it will have no problems for them…it is only for those who violate law”.
