PANJIM: In a statement issued by the Union Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers (MOCF) on Saturday, the Central government announced that a total of 26,000 Remdesivir vials were sanctioned to Goa for the period of April 21 to May 16.
MOCF revealed the company-wise supply plan of Remdesivir that has been issued to States and Union Territories (UTs) for the aforementioned period and added that Remdesivir vials are continuously being allocated.
“The plan has been prepared in consultation with the marketing companies. The companies have been instructed to ensure timely supplies to all States/UTs strictly as per the supply plan,” said MOCF.
For Goa, out of the 26,000 vials, 2,000 are by company named Jubilant; then similarly another 10,300 by Sungene/Sun; 3,000 by Cipla; and finally 10,700 by Hetero.
MOCF added that the allotment has been made for the States/UTs and State governments and UTs have been asked to monitor proper distribution within the State/UT covering government and private hospitals as appropriate and in line with judicious use.
“The State governments/UTs have been advised to place adequate purchase orders with the marketing companies immediately, if they have not already done so, for the quantity that they want to purchase out of allocation for the State/UT as per supply chain in close coordination with liaison officers of the companies. The coordination with private distribution channels in the State could also be made,” said MOCF.
