MAPUSA: In a deep-rooted tradition spanning hundreds of years, the elaborately decorated tarangas of Shri Dev Bhootnath and Shri Rawalnath from Mopa village were taken on a pilgrimage to Uguem village to visit Goddess Mauli and Mahadev. This sacred journey marks the auspicious occasion of Dussehra. The journey is marked by fervent prayers, traditional music, and the enthusiastic participation of villagers who gather to witness the grand procession.
The festival draws devotees from far and wide to seek the blessings from Goddess Mauli and Lord Mahadev. For generations, the tarangas of Shri Dev Bhootnath and Shri Rawalnath have been at the heart of this religious celebration. These intricately adorned chariots are not just symbols of faith but also cultural treasures that have been passed down through the ages.
As part of the annual ritual, these tarangas travel from Mopa village to Uguem village, serving as a unique connection between these neighbouring communities.
