PERNEM: Residents of Chandel Hasapur have raised serious concern over the pathetic and deteriorating condition of the road in the locality. The residents have demanded immediate repair of these roads, failing which they have warned of holding a rasta roko agitation to fulfil their demands.
The residents said that the local authorities have neglected their basic duty. Further they have urged the local MLA to prioritize the demands of the locals and their needs.
Locals urged the State government to reduce the number of events and listen to the demands of the people. Diwali is being celebrated, if something happens to anyone, who will be held responsible? they asked. “Who should be held responsible? The local MLA Pravin Arlekar or the PWD Minister? They should repair the roads as soon as possible.” local said.
“If the local MLA fulfils his responsibility, then such shoddy work will not happen. The PWD has forgotten its responsibilities and hence this unfortunate situation has arisen on our roads. We request our MLA to set aside his priorities and prioritise the tarring of the Chandel Hasapur roads on priority,” another local said.
