Chandor attack: Cong flays CM for silence

MARGAO: Congress leader Royla Fernandes said that it is disturbing to note the conspicuous silence of Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on the attack on a young girl in Chandor by stopping her vehicle on the way in broad daylight.

“Why you did not react to the incident of a young girl forced to drink disinfectant in Chandor? Why you remain silent on atrocities on women? You are Chief Minister of Goa and your duty is to protect each and every Citizen” asked Congress leader and Benaulim ZP candidate Royla.

”The Chief Minister of any State is responsible for the safety and security of each and every citizen. Sawant also holds the Home portfolio. How can he be selective?” she questioned.

“We demand that the Chief Minister must order a fast track investigation on the Chandor incident and nab the culprits immediately. The women are feeling completely unsafe to move around freely,” claimed Royla.
