MARGAO: The Chandor Cavorim gram sabha that wound up in 45 minutes resolved to publicly display the timings of all buses plying through the village after a senior citizen Tiago da Silva raised the issue of hardships faced by senior citizens as the buses operate erratically.
He pointed out that the bus owners very often do not ply the bus and said the buses operate at the whims and fancies of the owner thus causing great hardships to the senior citizens who depend upon buses as the only means of transport.
He said the morning bus at 7 am has been cancelled suddenly without any notification and asked the panchayat to contact the transport department and get the details of the buses plying through the village along with the time when they are supposed to be at strategic locations in the village.
The 47 people present for the meeting supported the demand and it was resolved that the panchayat will get the information and display it at prominent locations.
