MAPUSA: Sick of the deafening parties that continue to haunt the North Goa coastal belt, a resident of Chapora has complained to the Goa State Pollution Control Board, demanding action against a bar at Chapora, which
alleged plays loud music from 10 pm till
5 am in the morning, disturbing the entire neighbourhood.
In her complaint, Lynn D’Souza said, “This is a serious concern for us as the loud noise has been causing a disturbance to our daily lives, and we are facing sleep deprivation, leading to health issues. As per the Supreme Court guidelines, playing loud music during nighttime is not permitted as it causes a disturbance to the public. I would like to highlight some safety concerns that we have regarding the bar. The timings of Bar High Five are 6 pm to 6 am, which do not follow the Supreme Court guidelines. The bar targets Delhi crowd, which is very unethical and violent, leading to fights and other safety hazards.”
D’Souza claimed that they had witnessed violent brawls on the street outside her gate, and added that she had informed the Anjuna police, but they had not taken any real action.
