Chargesheet filed in Naresh murder case

Vasco Police has filed a chargesheet in the murder case of a 26-year-old youth from Vasco, who was brutally murdered in his brother’s flat at Chicalim on August 1.
Investigating officer PI Braz Menezes has filed a chargesheet before Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Vasco on November 30 charging the accused for allegedly committing the murder and theft under Sections 302 and 380 of IPC.
It may be recalled that Naresh Dourado was allegedly brutally murdered by his friend Snehal Vincent Dias (19) of Non-Mon, Khariwado-Vasco and stole his new car Chevrolet Spark, laptop and mobile phone.
After carrying out investigation and interrogating deceased’s close friends and relatives, the police nabbed the accused.
PI Menezes said that they examined and verified nearly 80 witnesses in the 201 pages chargesheet.
PI Menezes further informed that the accused was linked to the crime after carrying out thorough investigation of deceased’s friends and when the accused was interrogated, police got vital details to link him to the crime.
“The deceased had many friends. Police had to face a lot of difficulty because the accused had developed friendship with the deceased barely 20 days ago and the information about the accused was very limited,” added PI Menezes.
