Cheating case haunts senior KRCL officials

CBI had conducted a preliminary inquiry based on information regarding the misuse of huge funds of KRCL by some senior officers.

MARGAO: The CBI case against Konkan Railway officials on charges of cheating, criminal conspiracy and also under the Prevention of Corruption Act in connection with the purchase of a plot of land at Davorlim-Margao at an exorbitant price came up before court the Additional District and Sessions Court, Margao.

The alleged accused asked for some documents from the CBI related to the case.

Prakash Lal Das – general manager (training) (retired), KRCL Navi Mumbai, Nandu Manohar Telang, chief manager (administration) KRCL, Navi Mumbai, Baban Ghatge – deputy general manager public relations KRCL, Margao, Amarnath Gupta – Director of Geo Realtors Margao and Sudhir Phadke from Airoli, Navi-Mumbai are some of the alleged accused shown in the charge sheet. 

CBI had conducted a preliminary inquiry based on information regarding the misuse of huge funds of KRCL by some senior officers. The inquiry was made concerning the dealings of the Konkan Railway Welfare Organisation (KRWO), a registered society set up to provide affordable accommodation to the staff of KRCL, for which purely the funds of KRCL were used.
